Ignition is the second full length album released by The Offspring, originally released on Epitaph Records in 1992. This was the band's first release on Epitaph, and because of the limited availability of their first album, which was not released on CD until 1995, many once considered Ignition The Offspring's true debut album.

Released during the popularity of grunge and alternative rock, Ignition brought The Offspring small success in the Southern region of California, mainly the areas of San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles (where the album was recorded). This success would continue to grow with their next album Smash, which made The Offspring even more popular and become celebrities.

Like their previous album, no videos were made to promote Ignition. However, "Kick Him When He's Down" was released as a promotional single in 1995 after the band had risen in popularity; unlike many of The Offspring's singles, it did not appear on the Greatest Hits compilation album. Ignition is also the earliest of six consecutive Offspring studio albums to be certified gold by the RIAA - every album up to and including Splinter is at least certified gold.

"Dirty Magic", the sixth track on Ignition, was re-recorded on The Offspring's ninth studio album Days Go By, which was released 20 years later.

The title of this album is a lyric in "Burn It Up," the eighth track of the album.
