Bryan Keith Holland (born December 29, 1965) is the lead singer and, along with Noodles, guitarist of the California punk rock band The Offspring. Along with Noodles and their bassist Greg K., Dexter is one of the constant members of the band and has appeared on all of their albums. He writes most of the band's music and lyrics, and is the owner of the label Nitro Records.

Dexter was born in Garden Grove, California and grew up there. He met Greg while attending Pacifica High School. The two friends played in a local band called Manic Subsidal, where he was originally their drummer, after failing to get into a Social Distortion concert in 1984. After James Lilja was hired as their drummer, Dexter switched to both vocals and guitars. Noodles was eventually hired as a guitarist as well. Manic Subsidal never released any records, but some demos have surfaced in recent years. Then in 1986, the band changed their name to The Offspring, who have since released nine full-length albums, four EPs, three compilation albums, three videos, one demo, one box set and twenty-five singles.

Personal life[]

Outside of The Offspring, Dexter is a licensed Airline Transport Pilot and a Certified Flight Instructor, who has made a solo trip around the world in ten days. He also participated in the 2006 Los Angeles Marathon; his charity of choice was the Innocence Project, a non-profit legal clinic that handles legal cases where post-conviction DNA testing of evidence can yield conclusive proof of innocence.

Dexter was the class valedictorian at Pacifica High School, and was a Ph.D. candidate in Molecular Biology at the University of Southern California; however, he abandoned his Ph.D, but resumed working for it in 2009. He has a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Molecular Biology, both from the University of Southern California.

Dexter is the father of singer-songwriter Lex Land. In 1995, he married hairstylist Kristine Luna, who co-wrote "Session". They split up in 2011. He married an girl named Amber Sasse in 2013.

Holland has his own brand of hot sauce, Gringo Bandito, which is sold to mostly markets in Orange County and parts of Southern California.

In 1996 Guns n' Roses frontman Axl Rose, ripped 3 of Dexter's braids off, forced to cut his hair to make his blond, spiky hair we see today.
